Our Regional Contacts help local Burners connect with each other, while bringing Burning Man principles and culture into the Arizona community through events and activities, year-round. Learn how to become an RC.

Queen Voney currently serves on the AZ Burner Leadership Team and has served as the Gate Lead for Saguaro Man for the past four years. 

Lisa (Sassy Cat)

Sassy Cat is new to AZBurner leadership but brings to the role the experience of coordinating logistics for large AZ theme camps (Catworld, Flamingos, and MOJP). Lisa also has highly applicable experience from her day job in the corporate world. This experience will be very beneficial to the Arizona Region’s future.

As described below, several entities provide legal, financial, and administrative structure for the AZ Burners community. The entities are overseen by boards consisting of everyday Burners like you.

AZ Burners Board Members

The board of AZ Burners are selected through a process of nominations and community feedback, and chosen based on both their burner experience and their real world experience with leadership and non-profits. The entity is Arizona Artistic Conflagurators Inc, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Audel started out as a Burner in Seattle in 2002 and became an AZ Burner in 2009. She has helped build art cars, temples, sculptures, and theme camps and produces fundraisers for various Burner related projects. Audel is a DJ and fire performer in the community and is the founder of a monthly Burner event, Awakening Embers.

Land Org Board Members

In early 2020, the AZ Burners purchased 80 acres of land outside Wilcox in Cochise County in Southeast Arizona. The land will serve as a permanent home for community events. The land is held by Arizona Artistic Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The stewards of the land are:

Arizona Artistic Inc

Arizona Artistic Inc (AA) is the culmination of years of dreaming and planning for a permanent home for AZ Burners. In February 2020, AA purchased 80 acres of land near Wilcox. Learn more about the land purchase.

AA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity managed by a three-person board who are charged with developing a long term governance plan and mission.

Arizona Artistic Conflagurators Inc

Arizona Artistic Conflagrators Inc (AAC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity doing business as AZ Burners. It is an umbrella organization that hosts officially-sanctioned Burning Man events like Saguaro Man.

AAC owns bank accounts and PayPal accounts, carries insurance policies, and more to provide administrative structure behind AZ Burners events and activities.

AAC invests revenue into art grants, event operations, regional charities, etc.

Arizona Regional Productions LLC

Arizona Regional Productions is the Event Production Company owned by AAC Inc. ARP is responsible for planning and hosting Saguaro Man and AZ Decomp.

Arizona Burners Without Borders

Arizona Burners Without Border (AZ BWB) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity for creating positive change in Arizona through volunteer participation.

AZ BWB is a grassroots, volunteer-driven, community leadership program bringing meaningful change through the creativity of the local community who seek solutions. We support volunteers from around Arizona in innovative relief solutions and community resiliency projects.
