Report a Code of Conduct Violation

AZBurners Code of Conduct

This code of conduct outlines expectations for participant behavior at all official AZBurner events and initiatives sponsored by Arizona Artistic Conflagurators Inc. and in the year-round Burning Man community that exists beyond these events, including, but not limited to, social media. 

All participants in AZBurner events and initiatives are expected to take personal responsibility for their actions and the impact of those actions on others.  We are guided by the Principle of Enthusiastic Consent (Principle 0) and the 10 Principles of Burning Man.  

Please speak up about violations of this code of conduct using the guidance below. If you still have questions, please email codeofconduct@azburners.org or any individual Conduct committee or AZBurner board member.

The Conduct Committee will investigate incidents occurring at events and initiatives including, but not limited to:

  • Official AZ Burner Events
  • Official AZ Burners Online Spaces 
  • Unofficial burner events that formally incorporate the B.E.D. process or equivalent
  • Intimidation, stalking, verbal or physical abuse, violence against people, or non-consensual physical contact including but not limited to unwelcome sexual interaction.
  • Harassment, including harassment based on perceived or actual identity.
  • Non-consensual intoxication (e.g., dosing).
  • Abuse of power or discrimination in an AZ Burners leadership position or volunteer role.
  • Abuse or neglect of AZ Burners or venue property, physical or otherwise, such as vandalism, theft or destruction of event property, abusing the ticketing process or impersonating a lead or event organizer.
  • Disrespect of the community surrounding the event, such as dumping trash in local dumpsters, trespassing, harassment or repeated violations of the event’s sound policies.
  • Wanton, flagrant or repeated disregard for one’s own safety or well-being or the well-being of others, in a manner that compels urgent intervention by other participants, community members, volunteers or outside agencies, such as intervention by local law enforcement or fire department staff.
  • Repeated or egregious violations of any and all policies put in effect by event organizers.
  • Possession of an open container by a driver of motorized vehicle or Mutant Vehicle. 
  • Driving any vehicle while intoxicated.
  • Possession or distribution of illegal drugs.  Do not bring illegal substances or paraphernalia to any AZ Burner event.
  • Possession or consumption of alcohol by participants under 21 years of age.
  • Weapon and firearm laws and regulations.
